Kappa League was founded on Thursday, February 12, 1969, by the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., at Alain LeRoy Locke High School. Kappa League was adopted by the Grand Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. at the 56th Grand Chapter which was held August 12-15, 1970. The founders of the Kappa Instructional Leadership League were Mel L. Davis an Elder Watson Diggs Awardee and Edgar H. Bishop.
WHAT IS GUIDE RIGHT
Guide Right encompasses many of our youth oriented programs such as mentoring, college preparatory programs, and tutoring. However, the Flagship Initiative of the Guide Right Service Program is the Kappa Leadership Development League (Kappa League). Guide Right is a program of the educational and occupational guidance of youth, primarily inspirational and informative in character.
WHAT IS KAPPA LEAGUE?
Kappa League, formally known as the Kappa Instructional Leadership League, is the national youth initiative of Kappa Alpha Psi. We focus on training young men in grades 8th-12th for leadership, achievement, and service in every field of human endeavor. We emphasize personal development, academic achievement, and college/career prep.
KYCF
The Kappa Youth & Community Foundation fulfills its purpose (mission) through working with local agencies and organizations to feed needy families as well as students on college campuses, giving toys to homeless children during Christmas, providing health symposiums to the African American community, and performing other community activities. The GROCK Kappa League Mentoring Program is funded & supported by the KYCF, a 501((c)3 organization

The Kappa Instructional Leadership League is designed to help young men grow, receive, and develop their leadership talents in every phase of human endeavor. It provids both challenging and rewarding experiences, which richly enhanced their lives. Membership is open to male students from the sixth through the twelfth grades.
Who Can Join?
Must be a male student in 6th through 12th Grade
What grades to I need to join?
Must have and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 Scale
How much is the fee to join?
There is a one-time $80 annual fee required at the time of application.
What are my obligations?
You'll need to agree to a one-year commitment to the program, be able to obtain parental/guardian permission and ongoing support for participation in the program, and agree to attend meetings and actively participate as required.
